Thomas Olmsted has 9 years of military service as an active duty Navy SEAL. During his tenure in the SEAL Teams he deployed multiple times in support of the global war on terror. He was a member of SEAL Team 1,7, augment with Team 5, and spent time as an instructor training SEALs prior to going overseas. As a direct reflection of his dedication, work ethic, and expertise he was able to become a mentor and leader to many peers and junior SEALS. His primary responsibility while in the Teams was as a Joint Terminal Air Controller (JTAC), which controls all supporting assets and elements assigned to a SEAL platoon during combat missions.
Prior to his military service, Thomas played football and baseball at Troy University where he received All-Conference Honors multiple years and was voted Captain of the football team during his senior season. Upon graduation with a B.S Degree in Social Science and a Minor in Business, Thomas played in the 2006 Senior Bowl and was an undrafted free agent with the Miami Dolphins. Upon leaving the military Thomas attended Harvard Business School where he graduated in 2019. He has held many leadership positions within the Private Equity, Consulting, and Construction industries and is currently Co-Founder and CEO of NextBell Capital and Consulting. He also is a member of the Harvard Business School Alumni Board of Directors and works with ASU Hacking for Defense, mentoring college students on taking ideas from concept to commercialization within the DoD.
Thomas has three sons: Cannon, Porter, and Remington as well as his beautiful wife KG. In the pursuit of continued service, Thomas coaches, and volunteers as an ambassador to the Phoenix area for the SEAL Future Foundation, which provides opportunities and mentorship to transitioning Navy SEALs.
KG has 20 years of experience in brand building, management, marketing and as a GTM and operational strategy consultant for companies ranging from start-ups to the Fortune 500 list. KG cut her teeth as a creative director in New York for companies like Verizon, Amazon and the Oxygen Network. 8 years ago, she co-founded Hawthorne Gardening Company where she took half a dozen brands from concept to commercialization in just three years and then worked internally at Scotts Miracle-Gro (SMG) helping them build and launch a number of new brands in tech and consumables for the consumer market. Now, Hawthorne is the world’s largest Hydroponics brand and a subsidiary of SMG. KG has a business degree in strategy from NYU Stern and Harvard Business School. KG is the cofounder of NextBell Consulting and Venture Capital where she heads up Brand Consulting and Marketing Services.
When KG isn’t working she relaxes by painting, running, hiking, and hanging out with her kids and decently handsome husband, Thomas Olmsted.
